Joule Release

Rishi Khullar | December 16, 2019

Did you know we name all of our releases after famous heretics in history? This release is named after James Prescott Joule, an English physicist, mathematician, and brewer that is best known for his studies on natural heat and its relationship to mechanical work. While managing his family brewery, Joule would conduct experiments with steam engines in the facility. This ultimately led him to discovering and publishing ‘Joules Law’ in 1840, which establishes the relationship between energy currents, resistance, and heat generated.

Bookmarks and Linking

Nothing about a contract is truly linear, but one thing that you can always expect while reviewing contracts is dozens of self-references (ex. see Article 5). Our new ‘Bookmarks and Linking’ feature is the best thing to happen document review since email threading! We now provide a list of all the self-reference data points found in a document, allowing reviewers to be able to navigate the contract in a more efficient workflow. Users can create their own bookmark or links from the found self-references in the ‘Data Points’ panel, or run a Heretik Analysis model to automatically create navigation links to the sections being referenced in the contract.

New 'Data Point': References

Heretik now provides a list of all the self-reference data points across a document, allowing users to be able to finally navigate the contract in a more efficient workflow. This functionality is turned on by default and can be configured to reference within or across documents via bookmark or navigation link.

Auto-Generate Reference Links

Before running your our Segmentation Analysis, you now have the option to enable auto-generating links for references to sections while running Segmentation Analysis. Behind the scenes, Heretik will locate any references and then create a link for all those data points across the document. These links can be edited at any time. If you choose to not enable this feature during Segmentation Analysis, users are still able to manually add links and bookmarks throughout the review.

Docusign ID Extraction

This new Extraction Analysis option will now allow you to easily extract Docusign IDs. Watch this space for more exciting news and updates in future releases!
